Certified Organic Latex Mattresses: Good for You, Good for the Planet

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

Organics are all the rage. Whether it’s organically-made food, clothing, drinks, cookware, house cleaners or water bottles -- if it can be bought with an organic option, it will be made with it. Some organic products might seem a little silly but for others, they’re a vast improvement over their non-organic counterparts. As a general rule of thumb, we at Arizona Premium Mattress Company prefer our peaches without pesticides. But do you know what else we like without pesticides? Our mattresses. Believe it or not, our natural latex mattresses can get even better, and it happens when our mattresses are made of certified organic latex.

Don’t get us wrong – all of our natural latex mattresses are made with premium-quality ingredients, and when you purchase a product from Arizona Premium Mattress Company, you’re buying a product that is in the top five percent of the thousands of latex and memory foam products available. But certified organic latex mattresses are the cream of the crop.

Our supplier, Latex Green, spent several years focusing their own facility and processes to pass the standards set by the Global Organic Latex Standard. Their own trees used for rubber harvesting needed to be pesticide-free for over four years, and then processed on specific machinery, that has not processed other, easier latex mattresses. Latex Green designated a section of their factory with dedicated processing equipment, at great cost. But in the end, being the first mattress company with the capability to sell certified organic latex mattresses is all worth it.

Now you may be asking yourself, “what does all this achieve?” And the answer is, quite honestly, that it creates another option for those of us that want a perfect night’s sleep, and want to feel completely secure in their choice of mattress. Any bed you choose here is going to be above and beyond any other product on the market, but it’s always our driving focus at Arizona Premium Mattress to offer you the absolute best in sleep. Our natural latex mattresses are washed clean of any allergens and chemicals, yet there’s a tiny chance that there might be some interaction for those with latex sensitivities. However, with our certified organic mattresses, any allergens are completely removed so you can sleep with absolute peace of mind. Plus, certified organic mattresses provide some bragging rights for owners who can proudly declare that they own the cleanest, most organic mattress that cannot be bested by anything else on the market today. And it’s even good for the planet. There are literally no downsides, barring the cost, which we always ensure that you’re paying the fairest possible price.

So the choice is yours, and there is no wrong one. Natural latex mattresses or certified organic latex mattresses. Combine either with our organic cotton mattress covers, and you will have the most organic sleeping surface you will ever lay down upon, and will continue to use for decades to come.

You can check out our selection of organic sleep products right here:

Whenever you need a premium sleep experience, all you need to do is find it at Arizona Premium Mattress Company.

Discussing Mattress Pads vs Toppers

After a long hard day’s work, many of us look forward to coming home and crashing out on a comfortable bed. However, we get home, throw our clothes to the floor and jump in bed only to find it’s no longer as comfortable as it once was. What to do next? Perhaps buying a new mattress isn’t an option, after all they can be quite expensive, or perhaps your landlord advises against it, or maybe even donating a mattress where you live is difficult. There are numerous constraints one can come across. In which case, an excellent answer to these

Natural latex mattresses at half price? Yes, really!

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

Make no mistake: we here at Arizona Premium Mattress Company stand by our mattresses. We sell the most relaxing, most environmentally-friendly, and longest-lasting mattress available on the market today. However, we fully acknowledge that not all of our potential customers can afford to make the investment that our full-priced mattresses require. Or maybe they have one of their own, but they’re looking to buy one for a loved one to share the experience, but just want to get their foot in door. We’ve been hearing comments like this for a while now, and we’re proud to announce that we have a new line of value-priced Latex Mattresses, made to the same standards and the same commitment to eco-friendliness that you’ve come to expect from Arizona Premium Mattress Company.

Both mattresses have the same basic construction: A six-inch core of 2lb density #33 ILD Eco-Friendly support foam, naturally made from castor and soybean oil, and is hypoallergenic and antimicrobial to fight mold and bacteria. This foam is free and clear of any odor, thanks to the addition of activated carbon. Our cores still allow air flow throughout the mattress, ensuring that they’re just as cool as our more expensive beds.

The big differentiator between our budget mattresses is the top layer. We supply your choice of three inches of either Talalay or Dunlop natural latex foam, depending on your preferences. Choose Talalay if you like a softer mattress feel, or go with Dunlop if you prefer a firmer sleep surface. Whatever you choose, the mattresses are both rated at a “medium” body feel, so like Goldilocks would say, it’s just right.

As a little icing on the cake, our budget mattresses come with a bamboo fiber mattress cover: a 360-degree zippered casing, made from 100% biodegradable material, which naturally resist bacteria, fungi, and dust mites, while itself containing no harmful chemicals. It’s a perfect complement to a mattress that was made with eco-friendliness at its center. In addition, the bamboo fibers are four times more absorbent than cotton, making sleep drier and more comfortable, while also being softer than the fabric of our lives but stronger than synthetic fibers. The cover is completed by a casing of 100% Joma wool, lovingly collected from the millions of sheep in New Zealand.

Now, here’s where it gets really great. We’re giving you a naturally eco-friendly mattress made with your choice of Talalay or Dunlop Latex, resting on top of a core made from natural materials that ventilate and prevent bacteria growth. We also supply a top-of-the-line mattress cover, also naturally eco-friendly and bacterially-resistant, which in many ways is superior to whatever you can find at a big box store. Together, you get nine inches of natural, pure sleeping comfort that can’t be matched by anything other than our more pricey models.

Obviously, from the title of this post it’s clear where our price point is, but it’s always better to explain things flat out. To put it in raw numbers, you can experience these mattresses for yourself at prices starting as low as $499 for a twin . If you love it (which you will), consider going the step further to share it with someone special. Our queen size starts at just $749 . These are amazing deals that really can’t be beat when you consider the quality and incredible comfort you’re getting when compared to traditional mattresses. Please stop by our showroom or contact us if you have any questions about ordering online. We’re happy to help you find the right mattress for you.

Talalay Mattress

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

Customers buy a mattress topper for any number of reasons – to rejuvenate an old mattress because they can’t afford a new one or don’t want to replace it, to regulate the temperature of a too-hot or too-cold mattress, or to provide a cover against everyday wear-and-tear. Whatever your reason, it’s good to know the differences between the types of mattress pads out there, what they’re good for, and ultimately, why our Talalay mattress toppers are the best ones out there.

Wool is one of the most popular night time fabrics in existence, so it would be make sense that in addition to covering up with wool sheets, you could also lay down on a mattress topper made of wool. It’s also surprisingly cool - the natural breathability of the material allows proper airflow throughout the night, making sure you don’t overheat. Unfortunately, wool mattress pads can get pretty pricey, anywhere from $100-300, yet with their price tag, the topper will need to be fluffed up every couple of weeks to get the lumps out of it.

Featherbeds have a bit of an old-world mystique. They’re the things our grandparents sung about cuddling on with their sweethearts, but they never sang the praises of the little jolt they received when they shifted late in the night and one of the feathers poked out of the topper and right into their back, and for good reason. These can get even lumpier than wool, and usually end up costing around the same, but sometimes less. In addition, they’re also notoriously hard to clean, often requiring dry cleaning.

Fiberbeds are the synthetic version of featherbeds, for those who either don’t like or are morally opposed to sleeping on natural feathers. Problem is, while these beds are the cheapest mattress topping solution, around $50-$100, they inherit all of the featherbed’s problems. Machine washing a featherbed is tantamount to buying another one, since many times the material inside becomes far too lumpy or distorted to actually be considered usable. They’re a cheap way to add a little extra fluff to a mattress, but not much.

Memory foam is the biggest fad in sleep gear to date, and that fact alone comes with its own set of problems. Often imitated and barely perfected, many companies have scrambled together their own incarnations simply to cash in on the hype. Done correctly, memory foam can be a supportive and cushy way to improve your mattress. However, customers roll the dice every time they attempt to buy as to whether it’ll be a quality mattress or not. As well, all memory foam products are made with toxic petrochemicals that can emit an unpleasant odor once people lay down on them.

Finally, natural latex mattress toppers, like our Talalay Latex blend, are the cream of the crop. The best part? Our mattress toppers are comparable in price to other higher-end mattress toppers of all makes. However, that does not mean we manufacture in the same way as other, more easily manufactured mattress accessories. Our products are always worth the investment, because of how we make them. Using all-natural ingredients, the Talalay process is derived from rubber tree plants and harvested at only certain times of the year. However, in contrast to our Dunlop natural latex products, Talalay latex is further processed to create a more blended, uniform feel, resulting in a softer product than Dunlop. However, Talalay can create a range of thicknesses, from soft to firm. As such, it can provide support for those with bad backs, or add more support to a flagging mattress.

Best of all, Talalay latex is just as natural as all natural latex foam manufactured products, meaning that your new mattress topper is made to last. So check out our selection, and remember, when you’re looking for the best in sleep, you’re always going to find yourself at Arizona Mattress Company.

5 Reasons You Should Get a Mattress Topper

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

Are you getting the best sleep of your life every night? If you answered no, you might benefit from getting a mattress topper. While there are many things that can impact sleep—from lights and sound to temperature and time—the comfort of your mattress often plays a big role as well. Old, stiff, or unsupportive mattresses can make it hard to get great sleep night after night. If you aren’t ready to invest in a new mattress, a topper can provide some of the same benefits at a fraction of the cost. Here are five reasons you should consider buying one.

More Comfort

One of the main benefits of mattress toppers, and one of the primary reasons to get a mattress topper, is the additional comfort it provides. The right one can take an ordinary—or even an uncomfortable—bed and turn it into a luxurious retreat every night. They come in every size for any bed, so it’s easy to find one that can transform your current mattress.

Less Money

A new bed is a significant purchase for most people, and you may not always be in a financial position to be able to invest that kind of money. If your old mattress is starting to show some signs of wear, or it’s getting uncomfortable and saggy, and losing support, don’t suffer with poor sleep every night or waking up every morning with aches and pains. Adding a mattress topper can provide you with more support and more comfort for only a fraction of the price of a new mattress. Plus it gives you the chance to try out some of the newer mattress “technologies” and see if they are right for you—such as memory foam or latex—without the huge up-front cost.

Mattress Protection

Your mattress is an investment, and hopefully one that will last for many years to come. Mattress covers and toppers provide an added layer of protection against stains, dust mites, and other potential hazards that might ruin your bed before the end of its useful life.

Stress & Pain Relief

Sleep plays a huge role in relieving pain and stress in your life. Not getting quality, restful sleep can lead to heightened stress during the day (which can cause all sorts of problems, including headaches, fatigue, depression, and weight gain). If you’re waking up with aches and pains every day, chances are your mattress is creating pressure points that are making it hard for your body to recover at night. A more comfortable mattress topper can relieve these pressure points and help reduce pain.

Customized Comfort

If you’re sleeping with a partner in your bed, it can be hard to get the “perfect” mattress for both of you. One of you might prefer a harder surface, the other softer, or you might like the feel of memory foam while your partner prefers innersprings. If your bed has become a battlefield where only one of you ever feels comfortable, a mattress topper can provide you with the ability to “customize” your side of the bed without needing to purchase two separate places to sleep.

A comfortable mattress topper can breathe new life into your bed. Shop the huge selection at SleepWarehouse today to find one for you.

When people think posture, they think of how they walk and sit on their desk. Your sitting and walking postures are important. But the importance they are accorded often comes from the fair share that should have belonged to sleeping posture. Posture when you’re sleeping? I’m kidding, right? Nope. I’m dead serious. How you sleep is a crucial component not just to the quality of rest you get at night, but also your health in everyday life. Sleeping positions are dynamic. We course through several every night, and our preferences change over the year as well. Sadly, not all positions

4 Reasons to Buy a Latex Mattress Topper

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

In addition to lifestyle habits that might be keeping you from getting enough zzz’s every night—like stress, kids, and work—an uncomfortable mattress might share in some of the blame. A comfortable sleeping surface can make such a big difference in not only the amount of time you sleep, but also the quality of sleep you get each night. Fortunately you don’t have to invest a lot of money in a new mattress just to get better sleep. Adding a latex mattress topper can provide you with improved comfort at a great price.

1: Increasing Your Mattresses Useful Life

Sleep experts say you should replace your mattress every 7 to 10 years or so, but sometimes it’s difficult to make such a major purchase that often. If your mattress is still in pretty good shape after seven years but you find that it’s not quite as comfortable as it used to be or it’s not providing the right support for your sleep needs, adding a latex mattress topper is a great way to extend the useful life of your mattress a few more years.

2: Environmental Benefits

When you purchase a new mattress, the most likely place your old one will end up is in a local landfill. Mattresses are bulky, difficult to recycle, and generally cannot be reused. Even local charities often won’t accept used mattresses so donation isn’t an option. Latex mattress toppers are a greener, 100% natural alternative, allowing you to keep your existing mattress while still improving the quality and comfort of your sleep. It’s a win-win for you and for the environment. 100% Natural latex toppers will help you sleep at night knowing that you’re not leaving a harmful footprint on the environment.

3: Health Benefits

You probably already know that adults should get seven to eight hours of sleep each night, but you might not know that lack of sleep has been linked to many health ailments, potentially increasing your risk for chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke, and leading to daily problems with attention, memory, and focus. Adding a comfortable mattress topper can help you get a better night’s sleep and improve your overall health.

4: Comfort and Value

While there are lots of environmental and health reasons to consider latex mattress toppers, two of the most important criteria for most consumers are comfort and value. These mattress toppers offer exceptional support to keep your spine in ideal alignment without creating “pressure points” that can disturb deep sleep cycles, and they are often much more affordable than purchasing an entirely new mattress set.

When shopping for a latex mattress topper, buy from a reputable source like SleepWarehouse, where you know you’ll get the best price and the best customer service.

Why choose a natural latex pillow

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

Our heads are important. They’re where we see from, where our food goes when we need to eat, where we listen from, and what we use to read cool articles on the internet. So it just makes sense that when we go to rest our bodies, our heads would get their own bed on top of what we already lay on, and why it’s doubly important that what it rests on is made of the highest quality materials out there.

When it comes to a quality pillow, it all comes down to your neck. In case you didn’t know, your head is heavy. A normal human head is about as heavy as a three-month-old baby, and the muscles in your neck weigh significantly less. With today’s obsession with technology, the collective hunching of necks over smartphones are making neck problems more and more common.

When you need a pillow and you need it fast, department stores have a whole aisle dedicated to fiber and down pillows. The cheap chain store pillows will only puff out around you as soon as you lay your head down, and then after their first washing, they’ll get bunched up and out of shape so badly that you’ll need to buy another one.

Memory foam pillows are also a big seller nowadays, but the problem with a memory foam pillow is its lack of breathability, which may cause you get too hot when you sleep. Not only is waking up sweaty uncomfortable and unpleasant, it can also affect the quality of your sleep. In addition, people also complain of an unpleasant odor when memory foam bedding is first unpackaged. That’s because of the chemicals used in the creation of the pillow. Most of them are toxic, like the things you can’t pronounce on the side of a hair spray can.

The best way to give your neck a hand, second only to practicing proper smartphone usage habits, is to make sure you get to sleep on a pillow that supports your neck like it deserves after a hard day. And the best pillow for your neck are our natural latex pillows.

Natural latex is simply the best material in bedding, period. It’s completely hypo-allergenic and made without petrochemical materials, so there’s no smelly trial period. Actually, some buyers have said it smells faintly of vanilla. That’s one of the many perks of only using all-natural ingredients. And because the natural latex process creates a strong, flexible and durable product, these pillows end up giving unparalleled support to achy necks. Our pillows’ shape is also ideal to this end. The dual-lobed cervical design trumps the old-hat “brick” design most pillows still use.

Latex pillows are also breathable thanks to the air bubbles that form naturally throughout the manufacturing process, but ours are pincored, or poked full of holes, for extra breathability and comfort, meaning that every time you lay your head down on a Natural Latex pillow from Arizona Mattress, you’ll feel a nice breeze through the pillow instead of your head smacking a feathery rectangle, followed by the race to fall asleep before your pillow gets too warm and uncomfortable.

So at night, treat your head like the precious cargo it is. Buy an All-Natural Latex Pillow in a variety of sizes from Arizona Mattress. Because when you’re looking for the best in sleep, you’re always going to be looking at Arizona Mattress Company.

Is Sleeping on A Mattress on The Floor Bad For You?

RV and boat mattresses and topper customizations top the list in regards to custom foam projects.  Many travel trailers, motor coaches, yachts and boats have custom sized mattresses due to the limited space available.  Non-standard topper sizing presents these owners with challenges in how to upgrade sleep surfaces.  In most cases, the addition of a high quality mattress topper, will significantly improve the quality and comfort of the original mattress.  Many times, these mattresses are made with the most basic of designs, due to sizing and budget limitations.  Adding 2-3 inches of Natural Latex or Memory Foam dramatically improves the pressure relieving and comfort properties of the OEM mattress, all while being extremely budget friendly.

In cases where the customer wishes to replace the entire mattress, Sleep Warehouse can custom build latex and memory foam mattresses to the customers required sizing.  Don't forget about the foam in your bench seats and special nook areas in your recreation vehicle.

Will my Spindle mattress soften or sag? Yes. All mattresses do.

by Kim Novick @ spindle

All mattresses will eventually soften, sag or get an imprint from where you've been sleeping. The good news is that latex does it at half the rate of a conventional material. The normal compression in a traditional mattress is an inch and a half to two inches. Your Spindle is warrantied against impressions greater than 3/4". That's a "yuge" difference.

Top Reasons to Choose a Memory Foam Mattress

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

Finding the right bed is an important decision, and one that should not be taken lightly. Today there are more choices than ever, and the types of beds available range from simple innerspring mattresses to more advanced latex and memory foam. Since it came to the bedding market a couple of decades ago, memory foam has become one of the premier choices for mattresses for many reasons. Here are just a few the reasons you should choose a Sleep Warehouse memory foam mattress for your next bed purchase.

1: Maximum Comfort

Your mattress is one of the most critical factors in helping you get a good night’s sleep, and the right mattress should provide comfort and support so you don’t wake up every morning—or several times throughout the night—with aches and pains. In surveys of thousands of mattress owners, memory foam consistently ranks at the top in owner satisfaction; with around 80% of owners saying they are satisfied with their memory foam mattress (compared with about 60% satisfaction for owners of innerspring mattresses).

2: Exceptional Support

After it was first introduced for use in space travel through NASA, many people back on Earth saw memory foam as a promising technology for use in the medical field. Medical professionals discovered that it had the ability to respond to temperature and spread out pressure over the entire surface area, which was beneficial in eliminating pressure points often caused by innerspring mattresses. Mattress companies took notice and started working on developing a product based on NASA’s memory foam with long-term durability and comfort.

3: Better Sleep

If you’ve ever woken up with a tingling sensation in one of your extremities, it’s probably because your mattress doesn’t have enough give and it’s cutting off the circulation to that part of your body. When it happens during the night, you wake up so you can move enough to avoid long-term injury from reduced blood flow. This interrupts your cycles of deep sleep and can lead to poor quality sleep overall, even if you feel like you are getting enough sleep.

Since memory foam responds to temperature, when you lay on these mattresses they naturally contour to your body to eliminate pressure points in the night. The end result is a better night of sleep and more cycles of deep REM sleep so you wake feeling rested and ready for the day.

4: Long-Term Durability

The average innerspring mattress is designed to last anywhere from about 5 to 10 years, with experts recommending that you replace yours about every 7 years. Memory foam mattresses, on the other hand, are designed to last much longer.

Sleep Warehouse’s memory foam mattresses are unique in that if a given layer of foam ever wear’s out, you can just replace that single layer and not the entire bed. This is a tremendous cost savings and a very eco green approach to keeping mattresses out of land fills.

If you are shopping for a new bed, consider all the benefits that a memory foam mattress from Sleep Warehouse. We have memory foam options to fit every budget, so check out our huge selection today.

5: Customize Your Mattress To Your Needs

Sleep Warehouse memory foam mattresses are designed to allow you to customize the feel of the mattress for your exact requirements. You can choose from our award winning Certipur Sensus, Aerus and Gel memory foam layers. In addition, base layer configuration can be adjusted to your desired firmness/softness, providing for the best nights rest available.

Shipping Troubles

by @ Suite Sleep, Inc.: Latest News

It's a nightmarish scenario:

You've spent weeks, even months, trying to find the perfect mattress, made your decision, and now you just have to wait for it to show up!  Excitement builds when you get a call from the delivery company to scheduled your appointment, you get rid of your old mattress, take time off work to make sure you don't miss them, and then you sit and wait...and wait.....and wait some more.

Unfortunately, the delivery company doesn't show up when they said they would and you've now wasted a few hours sitting around, or worse yet, they've showed up but your brand new mattress has been destroyed.

Sadly, this is a situation we have seen time and again when shipping mattresses with freight carriers, leading to disappointed and upset customers as well as lost sales.  Over the course of the last 7 years, I've learned more about freight, White Glove deliveries, and shipping in general than I ever thought I would, yet no matter how much we try to prevent problems that we see on a regular basis, they continue to plague us.  The troubles we face with freight shipping are based in the fact that these LTL (Less than Truckload) freight companies are not set up in the best way possible to deliver furniture to residential locations.  These companies typically deliver large shipments in a large semi truck to businesses with loading docks, forklifts and teams of people to help unload.  While there is an alternative, white glove delivery can cost upwards of $750 for one mattress, take as long as 2 weeks to deliver, and still doesn't guarantee a smooth and timely delivery.

Over the years, we have tried many different options to get our product to our customers as quickly and safely as possible, and the shipper with the best track record has consistently been UPS.  Over many years and thousands of shipments, we have had just a handful of shipments arrive damaged, or go missing.  This created a problem for us, as mattresses are quite a bit too large to put on a UPS truck!  The solution we came to, is to create a mattress that can be easily broken down into smaller pieces, shipped via UPS, and then quickly assembled in the customers home.

There are many other benefits of constructing the mattress this way!

Easier Installation

First is mobility - Latex mattresses can weigh over 300 Lbs., and have little structure to them, making them very difficult to move especially when stairs are involved.  By breaking the inside of the mattress into three smaller and lighter pieces we have made it exponentially easier.

Customized Sleep

Another benefit is creating customized sleep and the ability to change the feel of your mattress.  As time goes on, our bodies change, our preferences change, and our mattresses don't adapt.  Instead of completely replacing your entire mattress, you can now change just the support layer to adjust the firmness to your liking!  Is your partner unhappy, but you still love the way it feels?  Great!  you can have different firmnesses on either side of your bed so you both sleep soundly. The support layer of the mattress is split right down the middle, and the top layer is kept whole so you will never notice the split below.  The cover is made with a zipper, so once you have laid the foam into the base, you can zip it closed and get a better night's sleep right away!

Less Wear and Tear

Another problem we ran into is that when the latex foam layers are placed atop one another, movement can cause them to rub together and slowly break down.  To prevent this from happening, make sure your mattress will last as long as possible and make it easier to handle, we have wrapped each internal piece with a thin layer of organic cotton.

We've been shipping mattresses for more than 15 years and have seen it all. We've shipped on pallets, shipped in pieces and even embraced roll-packing technology. Roll-packing degrades the latex more quickly and pallets encourage the use of fork-lifts that inevitably end up spearing the mattress. But when it comes to all latex mattresses, we achieve the best outcomes when we ship them in separate pieces. We break it down into manageable components, box them, band them and send them to happy homes. We look forward to your business!

Back to School - Memory Foam and Latex Mattress Toppers for College

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

Time flies when your having fun and it's hard to believe summer is already coming to an end!  Back to school is one of our busiest times of the year in regards to natural latex mattress toppers and memory foam topper sales.

Thousands of new college students heading off to college for the first time with cars packed to the roof with dorm room supplies.  Mom's & Dad's scrambling to make sure they are sending their student off with everything that they'll need for academic success.  For all involved it is an exciting, but many times a stressful process with their student in most cases venturing out on their own for the first time in their lives!

One important aspect that should not be overlooked is your students dorm room mattress.  Now the plain truth in regards to dorm room mattresses, most are far from the luxurious sleep surfaces our students are use to at home.  Colleges do a great job at providing students with all the tools to be successful, but in the area of mattresses, not so much.  College mattresses are required to stand up to the rigors of college dorm life first and foremost, which in most cases sacrifices comfort for longevity of use.  Second, college mattresses are not replaced yearly.  This is just not feasible for the college due to the costs involved.  This places your coed in a situation of having to sleep on a mattress which has seen a few years of college life go by and we'll leave it at that!

Sleep Warehouse has been selling college dorm room toppers for over 10 years and it just continues to grow each year.  There are 2 main avenues in regards to topper products that most choose, being our 100% Natural Latex mattress toppers or Memory Foam toppers.  Each has its own benefits depending on the specific needs your student may have.  Memory foam toppers tend to be more "cushy" and "doughy" providing a great overall comfort topper for a firm college mattress.  Latex mattress toppers provide comfort, but also still provide good support in a 100% natural sleep surface.  Our Natural Latex toppers are seeing a dramatic increase in back to schools sales as more and more customers are realizing the benefits of natural latex.  Both latex toppers and memory foam toppers are available in Twin and Twin XL sizing and a choice of thickness. 2-3" toppers are the preferred thickness for dorm use.

We highly recommend choosing one of our quality topper covers to protect your topper investment.  Sleep Warehouse Bamboo topper cover is our most popular cover.  The soft bamboo material provides a great feel, all while keeping the foam topper inside clean and tear free.

We wish all of our new college coeds the best of luck for a new year of success and adventure.  If you need any assistance choosing the exact right product for your student, please do not hesitate to give us a call and speak with one of our topper specialists.

What is the Best Bed for a Side Sleeper with Chronic Lower Back Pain | A Sleep Guide

by Jenna Jamieson @ mattressify.com

Finding a good bed to sleep in is one of those things that are really important to peoples’ well being but are summarily looked away from by virtually everyone. You cannot have a decent night’s sleep if your bed is lumpy, doesn’t support your body properly or otherwise causes you discomfort. So it is important that we discuss about proper beds, and especially for side sleepers, who get really bad deals while buying beds for themselves. The common paradigm employed when designing mattresses is that people sleep on their backs. Even as the position is employed by only 15% people

The Benefits of Latex Mattresses

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

Many products made to sleep upon are crafted from materials that are super soft to the touch. This is, of course, a natural way to want your sleep gear. Yet, back when sleep products were advancing beyond a burlap sheet and a pile of hay, the materials used were quite recognizable: cotton, feathers, down, and in really posh cases, silk. But as times went from pre- to post-industrial, the wonder of plastics and the materials made possible with petroleum byproducts lent itself to creating easy to produce, affordable, and widespread bedding choices.

Some of the best bedding has been around for decades, and has never required the use of a guy in a lab coat. Case in point: the wide variety of all-natural latex mattresses we provide at great prices. Thanks to the versatility of natural latex, a wide range of firmness and depths can be created, ensuring that any range of backs will be comforted, and be comforted for quite a while. The normal latex mattress can be expected to have a life expectancy of more than 20 years. In some cases, latex mattresses can live to be over 50!

So how does this compare to things we’re used to sleeping on right now? Traditional spring mattresses provide comfort by having rows and rows of springs basically wrapped up by other traditional sleep materials - foam, cotton, polyurethane cushioning, etc. Yet, aside from the springs themselves, much of the materials used are not recyclable or reusable. You see, natural latex mattresses aren’t just more economical, they’re much better for the environment too.

Recently, petrochemicals have entered the sleep spotlight in a big way. Most memory foam is derived from plastics, and anyone who’s owned plastic-based memory foam can tell you straight away - it smells like it. Another common complaint with memory foam mattresses is that they tend to overheat those who sleep on them, and traditional mattresses only breathe from the inside when the springs compress and decompress. Latex mattresses, on the other hand, never overheat. The manipulability of natural latex allows a mattress to be pincored, which makes the mattress capable of ventilation so they never overheat.

Natural latex is also much better for the environment. Chemically-based memory foam mattresses have one of three fates when their use comes to an end: they can either be entombed in a landfill until judgment day, recycled into something useful, or the worst way to go - into an incinerator. This releases all of the nasty things they were made with into the atmosphere, adding to pollution with greenhouse gases.

That’s something you’ll never have to worry about while relaxing on your natural latex mattress. Where other mattresses may have a list of ingredients that are about as pronounceable as the back of a TV dinner, natural latex is comprised of a list of ingredients you can count on just two hands, and have less than six syllables per word, and is completely biodegradable.

So when your old mattress has you all steamed up in one way or another, just take a minute and check out our fine selection at Arizona Premium Mattress Company. It’s a mattress to last a lifetime.

Difference Between Innerspring Mattress vs Pocket Coil

by Jenna Jamieson @ mattressify.com

There are several ways you can get a good night’s sleep. But all of them mandate a proper mattress. And the amount of variety the mattress market offers almost blinds you. So what mattress should you buy? Many people still prefer the tried and tested innerspring mattresses, which are probably the oldest type of mattresses around. This speaks volumes about how comfortable they are regarded. But recently, a new subtype has emerged known as pocket coil mattress. If you’re confused about what the difference between them is, and what you should look for while buying either, you’ve come to the

Natural Latex Mattress Toppers - Which one is the best?

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

"Which latex mattress topper is the best?".  If this is not asked once, it's asked a dozen or more times a day from customers calling in to Sleep Warehouse trying to wade through the vast amount of information posted up on the internet.  It can be quite daunting for consumers reading pages upon pages of retailers information self proclaiming their latex toppers are "the best".  While there are good products to be had, there are many products which just don't match up and we would like help customers make an informed decision on which latex mattress topper is best for their requirements.

Sleep Warehouse only sells certified 100% Natural Latex Dunlop mattress toppers.  We do not sell blended or synthetic Talalay latex.  A major point in regards to Talalay latex, is the vast majority of Talalay latex offered in retail or on the internet is only 20-30% actual natural latex, with 70-80% being SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber).  There's lots of information and reading to be had on SBR if you are curious, just do a quick search.  Latex toppers described as "blended" or "synthetic" are products with SBR.

Most people looking to purchase a latex mattress topper, do so wanting a supportive yet cushioning sleep surface, without chemicals or harmful FR (flame retardant) additives. These customers are looking for an eco green bedding solution to provide a comfortable nights rest.  It is of our opinion and many years of mattress topper product experience, that an all natural Dunlop latex mattress topper provides the best overall sleep experience, product longevity and eco green sleep surface for our customers looking for an alternative to memory foam or other polyurethane mattress toppers.

Taking this one step further, Dunlop latex toppers can be manufactured by either pouring 6" latex slabs/buns or via the newer Continuous Pour manufacturing process.  Sleep Warehouse latex mattress toppers are manf. by the Continuous Pour system, which provides for a more density consistent and uniform latex product.  Instead of pouring the latex into 6" slabs, the toppers are manf. to specific customer sized thicknesses at 2" and 3" without any seams.  The main advantage to this, is producing a latex topper who's density is the same for every topper poured.  There can be slight variances due to the natural properties of the latex, but these are very small, so the topper you purchase today, will feel the same as a new topper you purchase down the road.  Unlike a 6" pour, where the latex can and will settle during the vulcanization process (causing the bottom of the slab to be more dense then the top of the slab).  Then once the slab is fabricated and cut into individual mattress toppers, the resulting product firmness/density can differentiate based on if the 2" topper is cut from the top or bottom of the 6" slab, which as a consumer you have no control of.

Sleep Warehouse's latex toppers have a finished "skin" on both the top and bottom of the product, resulting in a more finished (better looking) and better wearing product.  Toppers cut from slabs may have raw cut surfaces on both sides or one side finished and one side raw, again depending on where in the 6" slab your latex mattress topper is cut from.  Even with our "skinned" latex toppers, we encourage customer to use a high quality cover, such as our Bamboo topper cover to provide protection from dirt/debri and wear/tear of everyday use.  Using a cover will greatly prolong the life of your mattress topper.

The manufacture and fabrication of Sleep Warehouse latex mattress toppers takes place here in the USA, which we are very proud of.

We encourage customers to give us a call and speak with our topper specialists if you have any questions or need help choosing the exact right product for your needs.  One size does not fit all and we can help make sure you get the right product, the first time around.

How to assemble your Spindle Mattress at home.

by admin @ spindle

All mattresses will eventually soften, sag or get an imprint from where you've been sleeping. The good news is that latex does it at half the rate of a conventional material. The normal compression in a traditional mattress is an inch and a half to two inches. Your Spindle is warrantied against impressions greater than 3/4". That's a "yuge" difference.

Dunlop Latex Mattresses

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

At Arizona Premium Mattress Co., we know how much it means for our customers to get a restful sleep every night, and our Dunlop Latex Mattresses are the perfect choice for a perfect sleeping experience. Using a process that has been perfected over decades, Dunlop Latex provides a soft, comfortable mattress that cradles you in superior comfort, ensuring a restful, revivifying night’s sleep, or even the perfect power nap, every time you lay down. It’s also a very sturdy material as well, its dense particles providing several different densities that last longer than traditional spring mattresses.

Normal spring mattresses are the old reliable. Your parents slept on one, you probably grew up sleeping on one through school and college. But as time goes on, latex mattresses are more and more becoming the main mat most of us use to fall asleep on, and for good reason. The old reliable is made the old-fashioned way, and the includes a spring core that can be a breeding ground for mold, bacteria, dust mites, and incredibly-hard-to-get-rid-of bedbugs, one that can only be cleaned out by completely tearing your mattress apart. While it’s true that latex and its cousins cost a little more than springs, the benefits latex mattresses provide make the extra cost well worth your investment, and won’t creak when you lay down for the night.

Latex mattresses are created by “tapping” rubber trees - basically sticking a spigot in the tree and letting the sap leak out - and molding the sap that leaks out. It’s a hypoallergenic process that is 100% biodegradable and earth-friendly, made without any non-sustainable petrochemicals. The sap is then poured into molds and whipped in a centrifuge, creating a solid piece that is slightly more dense towards the bottom of the mattress than the top.

We’ve already talked about the longevity of natural latex versus spring mattresses, but it’s also worth knowing that latex mattresses provide a cooler sleeping experience. That’s definitely worth it, because far too many of us know the massive uncomfortability of waking up in a puddle of sweat. Combine that nastiness with the recommendation of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine that the ideal room should be like a cave: “cool, quiet and dark.” Also, the manufacturing process of a natural latex mattress acts as a built-in prevention between you and other things that might like to live on your bed, such as mold, mildew, and everybody’s least favorite tiny spider, the dust mite.

Of course, the many informercials for the less effective memory foam mattresses tout their motion separation (the overly eager woman or man jumping on a bed with the precariously-placed glass of red wine on the other side) and pressure point removal as compared to spring mattresses, but what they fail to tell you is that their mattresses are made with harsh chemicals and can smell funky when you lay down on it. However, our mattresses are all-natural and offer the exact same benefits without the weird smell. In fact, customers say the natural latex beds emanate a faint, sweet scent, almost like vanilla, upon their arrival that dissipates after a few days. If you end up missing the scent, there’s no one that says you can’t eat vanilla ice cream in bed to reproduce it.

So check out our all-natural latex foam mattresses right here, and remember, when it comes to making the right choice for your bedroom’s namesake, the best place to start is always Arizona Premium Mattress.

Replacing your decade old mattress can help you sleep comfortably, but choosing the best mattress isn’t always as simple as one may think. For example, brands and types are abundant, and budgets range from cheap to very expensive, so scrimping could be detrimental to health, whilst overpaying could be pointless. If you’ve chosen the wrong mattress for yourself in terms of comfort, you’d most likely end up having a tough time sleeping and eventually suffer from sleep deprivation. Comfort aside,

What to Look for in a Good Guest Bed

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

When you’re preparing to have a house full of guests, it can be stressful to think about where they are going to sleep. Rather than giving up your own bed to make sure they have a comfortable night’s rest, these days you can find a variety of different options for the best guest beds. Here are some of the things you should be looking for as you shop for the perfect sleeping station for your visitors.

Identify Your Budget

Certainly you want to have a nice guest bedroom, and you want to have a place where people can sleep comfortably, but a bed is often a major purchase and you probably don’t want to spend a fortune on one that will only be used for a small number of nights each year. It’s important to think about what you want to spend, and what you are able to spend, before you start shopping so you can maximize the budget you do have and find the most comfortable guest bed option.

Review Your Available Space

Having a dedicated guest room will provide you with more space and more options than if you are planning to combine a guest sleeping area with some other room in your house, such as an office or study, a child’s bedroom, a living area, or a loft. In the former case you can consider the size of the room and try to find a bed that will comfortably fit, while the latter case may require that you find a guest bed that can be folded up when it’s not in use, or hidden, as in the case of a murphy or trundle bed.

There are dozens of options out there for hidden beds, including trundle beds, which double the sleeping space without taking up a whole room most of the time. Murphy beds and sleeper sofas can also be hidden away so the space is available for other things when no one is staying at your home.

Have Some Additional Options on Hand

Sometimes even the best-planned guest sleeping areas are not enough. When the whole family calls and says they are coming for the holidays, it’s important to have some extra sleeping space on hand for emergency use. The most effective stash-able sleeping options include tri-fold mattresses, which are generally twin, full, or queen size, but can be combined to make larger “beds” if necessary, and air mattresses. The advantage of a tri-fold mattress is that it provides you with the added comfort of materials like memory foam, and the air doesn’t leak out through the night, leaving your guests more or less sleeping on the floor by morning. Since it folds up quickly, it can be cleaned up easily and takes up only a little bit of space in a closet or storage area.

If you do need to pull out some of this emergency bedding, it’s also helpful to have options like privacy screens that you can set out in common areas to provide your guests with a little bit of their own “space” while they are asleep and they won’t be disturbed with everyone who walks by in the morning.

Having the right guest beds helps make family and friend visits fun, and takes the stress out of trying to figure out where everyone will sleep at night.

Why Good Sleep Matters So Much

by Lindsay S @ Choose Mattress

We humans spend about one-third of our lives asleep. This one-third greatly impacts the quality of the other two-thirds of our lives. Many things contribute to a good night’s rest, and your mattress lies at the foundation. According to WebMD, when it comes to sleep quality, “to get it right, you’ve got to start with the basics and your mattress is the first building block to a restful slumber.” After all, if you’re tossing and turning all night, struggling to get your body into a pain-free position, your sleep quality will be poor, and your wellness will suffer. Latex Mattresses for Phoenix, AZ - Why YOU Need One

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

As you all know Phoenix, AZ has a very hot climate which makes latex mattresses the perfect bed for our environment. Latex beds are made with open cell natural rubber from the rubber trees which means that increased air flow equals a cooler sleep. Memory foam on the other hand is the worse possible choice for Phoenix or any hot climate for that matter because it is made with closed cell foam (miniature sized bubble wrap) which does not breathe well at all. Now if you are looking to lose weight then perhaps memory foam is a good way to go but for me I prefer to NOT sweat in bed.

Any of you who have purchased either a memory foam mattress or memory foam topper I'm sure noticed a rather unpleasant odor when you first got it. That's all the nasty chemicals used to make memory foam off-gassing. That will continue, although at a slower pace, for the entire life of the mattress. You might become used to it but it will never go away completely. I don't know about you but the thought of breathing that crap night after night just does not appeal to me at all. Latex mattresses do not off-gas because there is nothing trapped inside cells to escape due to it's open cell construction.

So you may be asking yourself why you have never heard of a latex mattress before? The answer is simple, latex mattresses are one of the best kept secrets of the mattress industry. The problem with them and why they will never be mainstream in Phoenix or anywhere else is simply that they LAST TOO LONG. There is no planned obsolescence like there is with all the one sided pillow top beds you see in the stores these days. So if you do find them in a store they are usually priced out of range for most people or they are only partially made with latex and the rest is inferior poly foam.

Another reason why you should consider a latex bed is because they are made with all natural and non-toxic materials. Can't say that about most other mattresses. The fire retardants used in today's mattresses are now showing up in mothers breast milk and much more. Our latex mattresses made right here at our factory in Phoenix, AZ use all natural wool as our fire retardant instead of chemicals. Of course wool is much more expensive and why most mattress companies refuse to use it in favor of the much cheaper chemical barrier options.

Lastly but most important, all of the features outlined above mean nothing if the bed is not comfortable. Latex foam has the ability to mold to your body contours and relieve pressure points like no other mattress on the planet. Choosing the right firmness is extremely important and simply going down to your local sleep shop and laying on a mattress for five minutes is just not enough. You need to be fitted based on you body type, weight, sleeping style, etc. No one has more experience matching you up to the proper latex mattress here in Phoenix than we do. We often recommend different firmness choices for each person because think about it, a heavier person needs more support than does a lighter person. A side sleeper likes it soft whereas a back sleeper typically likes it firmer. Until now you either both compromise or end up with one of those select your number air beds which are simply waterbeds reincarnated. Problem with those is that they leak and usually right after the warranty expires and they don't offer proper support no matter what your number is. I've documented latex mattresses lasting over 50 years. Yep, just Google 50 Year Latex and see for yourself.

Stop by our Latex Mattress Showroom here in Phoenix, AZ and get your own fitting. Located just North of Deer Valley Rd. and just East of I-17 at 22201 N. 24th Ave.

Comparison Between Innerspring Mattress and Memory Foam

by Jenna Jamieson @ mattressify.com

The biggest chunk of competition in the mattress industry is arguably divided between memory foam mattresses and innersprings. Memory foam mattresses have a lot of marketability, given they are made from technology that was first employed in providing proper and adequate rest to astronauts. Innerspring mattresses of the other hand have been around for decades now, which means they are seen as the safer option. People researching online often get stuck on these two as well. The competitive pricing doesn’t help decide either. And not everyone knows everything about both, so i thought i should write a post to help

What kind of mattress gives the best value?

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

We’ve talked before about the benefits of latex mattresses over others, and we’ve touched on how long they can last you, but we’ve never really gone into what that means for your wallet. Well, it’s time we do that. So keep reading and see how you can get the most value for your hard-earned money.

Innerspring Mattresses:

We’ll be honest. We don’t speak too highly of the most prominent mattress out there, but honestly, it’s because other than a futon mattress, which is basically a giant pillow that folds in half, they have the shortest lifespan of any mattress on the market. You can expect your innersprings to live about six years with proper maintenance and care. However, this is an average; since there are so many cheap mattresses in this category, you can expect that the “value” mattress you pick up might not even last you two years before it starts developing body impressions. You know, that undesirable trait their companies say is a feature of memory foam and latex mattresses exclusively? Turns out bad springs lose their supportiveness too.

Memory Foam Mattresses:

We tend to think of memory foam mattresses as distant cousins to what we produce here at APMC. Very, very distant cousins. If our natural latex mattresses are diamonds, memory foam mattresses are cubic zirconia. With a nasty off-gassing odor and a tendency to trap body heat, they’re not the greatest mattress to be stuck with for seven years (if they make it that long). In their defense, the off-gassing doesn’t always happen and if it does it doesn’t last forever. Plus, the supportiveness of memory foam is much better than an innerspring. However, the manufacturing process is much more, shall we say, chemically-profuse than latex manufacturing. They also have a much bigger carbon footprint and are less environmentally friendly than latex.

Latex Mattresses:

I mean, what can we say? Can we continue singing the praises of a mattress that has just six ingredients, is odorless, is environmentally friendly and proven to maintain its shape? Can we keep bragging about how long some latex mattresses have lasted – some over five decades!?

Of course we can.

We love our product and we can’t stop ourselves from repeating how amazing what we sell is. Sure, natural latex requires an investment, but it is an investment that you won’t regret because it lasts. Sleep survey and FAQ website SleepLikeTheDead.com states that latex mattresses last about eight years, but we know of latex mattresses that have had life expectancies expanding into decades -- even up to fifty years, with little to no deterioration. So if you take care of your latex mattress it will take care of you. Not only that, without the dips and sags of an innerspring or the radiating heat of memory foam, you’re sure to enjoy a much better quality night’s sleep with a latex mattress.

Air Mattresses:

Air mattresses can last up to nine years, but there’s a catch: you’re basically sleeping on a sophisticated balloon. A really cool balloon, no doubt, but a balloon. That means that it’s subject to over- and under- inflating, impact bursting (don’t jump on the bed too much, kids!) and sharp things: scissors, knives, cats, an overly-jagged toenail, etc. The adjustable beds you see on the market are basically top-of-the line balloon mattresses that cost just as much for one of our beds, require a wall outlet, and might pop.

Waterbeds:

This favorite of 70s-era lotharios is all but a memory nowadays, but it has a rather decent shelf life of a little over eight years. However, it’s subject to all of the problems an air mattress has, except this one can ruin carpets and floors if it were to leak and go unprotected. Waterbeds are a great thing to try once, but they’re better off in the past. The future is here, and we’re keeping it all natural.

There’s a lot of things to consider when getting a new mattress – not just your comfort but the price. We get it. However, we do offer several different options to help you find the right natural latex mattress at the right price for you. It’s your body, it doesn’t deserve to sleep on something subpar. Choose the something that will be right for your budget and last you many years to come.

Mattress Disposal and Recycling

by Lindsay S @ Choose Mattress

With all the millions of mattresses being sold annually worldwide it’s wonder where all of these used mattresses cease to be worthy at the end of their life cycle. I used to have an image of huge refuse sites with stacks of rubbish and piles of mattresses. In the US, this is no longer the case as it was some decades ago. However, in many places across the world, a landfill site is certainly where old mattresses still do tend to expire, piled high in corners of tips where they take up space and cause unnecessary harm to the environment.

Can Memory Foam Reduce Tossing and Turning?

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

Barring serious disorders like sleep apnea, most people toss and turn at night because they cannot get sufficiently comfortable. Perhaps the mattress is too hard, the temperature isn’t right, or their back and joints hurt from uneven pressure. They start tossing around unconsciously, and end up having trouble drifting off to sleep peacefully.

Thankfully, there is an easy answer to this. Getting a memory foam mattress or topper may finally put an end to your ceaseless movement while asleep, as it has for many people across the country. But how does it do this?

How Memory Foam Can Help

You likely keep tossing and turning because of poor body alignment. Memory foam will mold to every curve and contour of your body, relieve pressure points, and avoid leaving gaps which can cause discomfort. Unlike with normal mattresses, you no longer have to keep moving around to “find” a comfortable position, as memory foam automatically adjusts itself to suit your current posture.

Even better, memory foam is highly efficient at absorbing the energy from your movements. This means that if you do still toss and turn slightly while asleep, your spouse will barely feel it at all, even if they are an extremely sensitive sleeper. There’s no more chance of them waking up due to your antics, or if you decide to get up to go to the bathroom.

If you are not sure whether a memory foam mattress or topper is right for you, give it a try for two or three weeks. Our return policy covers a full 30-day period, so you can see for yourself how good it is at reducing tossing and turning, along with general sleep discomfort.

Do you have questions or need further assistance? We would be glad to help; just give us a call at (888) 624-1010, and one of our representatives will see to your needs.

Adjustable Bed Frames – And Why You Want a Latex Mattress to Go With Them

by @ Latex Mattress Company: Latest News

We’ve all seen the advertisements for adjustable beds: they tout the comfort of a great mattress, with the ability to go above and beyond the traditional box spring, raising and lowering your head, your legs, or both at the same time, creating the ultimate comfort: a semi-recliner that’s actually made out of a bed. If there’s a better way to spend a quiet night than reclining in bed, snacking and watching movies, I haven’t heard of it.

Now, if you’re looking to find yourself the perfect mattress to compliment your great new bedding solution, you should really consider latex. You see, Latex mattresses only need to be about 8 inches thick, which makes the mattress much more flexible and easier to shift with the adjustable bed frame.

Plus, if we can give you the best mattress for an adjustable bed frame, you can bet your bottom dollar that we provide the best frame available, too. Our Ergo Motion 400 Series is the complete package for any natural latex mattress you choose. With two adjustable head and foot rests, the recliner-dream is a reality. But the main therapeutic value of the Ergo Motion beds lies in our Zero G function. By putting your feet over your heart, the normal pressure your spine is subject to during the day is reduced, and it also improves circulation throughout your body as well. Not a bad deal for just kicking your feet up.

Now, that might be enough to get you to purchase your very own hydraulic wonderbed, but we’re not done yet. Imagine this: You’ve come home and placed yourself into Zero G mode. You then hit a button on your handy dandy wireless remote, and out of nowhere, your feet begin to be massaged by the Ergo Motion. That’s right. Not only does our bed relieve stress on the spine and improve circulation, but it can also provide anywhere from ten to thirty minutes of massage therapy at three different levels of intensity for your head and feet.

Now as with our premium quality mattresses, our Ergo Motion beds come in a variety of sizes and require a bit of investment. However, you’ll be getting a one-of-a-kind, personal sleep paradise. It’s the best way to sleep, and once you lay down, you might need to call in late until you get used to it.

So go ahead - get the gift of sleep as a grand gesture for the ones you love this year, or make an investment on your sleep for decades to come. We invite you to go out and do your research on which adjustable bed is the best, but we’re sure that you won’t find a better matchup than our Ergo Motion 400 series and a Natural Latex Mattress from Arizona Premium Mattress Company. We’re built to last, for a sleep that is second-to-none every time you lay down. Remember, when you want the best in sleep, you’ll always find yourself at Arizona Premium Mattress Company.

Can Memory Foam Improve Your Sleep?

by @ Sleep Warehouse: Latest News

Sleep. It’s an essential part of our everyday lives, and plays a critical role in your overall health and well-being. Getting a good night’s sleep has been proven to benefit people in many ways, including better memory and cognitive function, the ability to focus, and reduced risk for illnesses such as cold and flu, and even heart disease and diabetes.

There are a lot of factors that impact your sleep, but none is more important that your environment. A comfortable bed is critical to give your body the support it needs to benefit from a quality night’s sleep. That’s where the best memory foam mattress topper can come in.

What is Memory Foam?

Memory foam is a synthetic material developed in the 1960s by NASA for use in their space shuttles. It’s composed of a substance called viscoelastic, which is very soft and very energy absorbent. It responds to heat and pressure, conforming to your body and providing a higher level of support than traditional innerspring materials, and distributing your body weight evenly over the surface of the mattress.

How Does it Improve Sleep?

One of the biggest benefits of memory foam mattress toppers and mattresses is their ability to relieve pressure points during sleep. On a traditional mattress the parts of your body that are touching the mattress are often getting push back from the springs underneath. This creates pressure points in areas like the shoulders, hips, and knees, which can cause you to wake up in pain. Since memory foam toppers respond to heat, the areas where your body is in direct contact with the bed will soften more, cushioning your body and providing more even support.

Pressure points can also reduce blood flow to your extremities, which causes you to wake up more frequently to adjust your position and prevents you from staying in a deep REM (rapid eye movement) sleep cycle.

Finally, memory foam is beneficial for many couples who share a bed because it minimizes motion transfer—meaning that if your partner is tossing and turning throughout the night, you won’t get bounced around. For that reason it can help people sleep better when they sleep next to someone who tends to move around a lot.

If you are having trouble staying asleep, or waking up in pain each morning, consider getting a memory foam topper to help cushion your body and provide a more restful night’s sleep.
